Prom Checklist! You want everything to be just right on prom night, so you’ll need to get organized well in advance. The key to success is planning, so follow this prom night countdown to make sure everything turns out perfectly.

Prom Checklist! 4 Months to Go:
• Put in your request for time off from work, and clear your schedule for the entire prom weekend (you’ll need the extra time).
• Make a list of things you want to have done for the prom, like purchasing your prom dress or renting a prom tuxedo, booking a barber or hair salon appointment, scheduling a facial, manicure, or makeup session, as well as purchasing any special accessories you may want. Ask your friends and older siblings (especially if they’ve already been to a prom) for ideas.
• Create a special folder for easy access to everything prom-related. Over the next several weeks, fill it with pictures of hot prom hairstyles, perfect prom dress and prom tuxedo choices, essential makeup tips, and your copy of Prom Guide.

Prom Checklist! 2 Months to Go:
• Sit down with your date and create a budget. Include everything you want to do before, during, and after the prom (don’t forget the prom limo). Then check Prom Guide and PromGuide.com for local vendors so you’ll know where to go. Also, click onto the link for the Prom Calculator to help you itemize your expenses.
• Finalize your favorite prom hairstyle choices. Check Prom Guide’s hair section for inspiration.
• Go shopping with friends for accents and extras. Help each other find the right pieces to match your style.

Prom Checklist! 1 Month to Go:
• Make all your salon appointments with your prom hair stylist or barber, manicurist, and make-up specialist. Don’t leave all the pampering to the girls – a masculine make-over can include a manicure or facial for your best look ever! Go to each place with photos from your prom folder to confirm that they can make it happen.
• Pick up your prom dress. Take photos while you try it on for the first time.
• Check with your date to make sure everything is going smoothly for both of you.

Prom Checklist! 1 Week to Go:
• Find the perfect outfit that suits your afterprom plans.
• Confirm all your appointments.
• Confirm with your prom date (again) that everything is under control.

Prom Checklist! Just Hours to Go:
• Pick up your prom tuxedo.
• Arrive early for all of your appointments, and don’t forget to take photos while you’re there.
• On your way home, pick up your boutonniere or corsage.
• Get a hold of a little extra cash (just in case) and keep it with your ID and tickets.
• Make sure all gadgets (phones, cameras, etc.) are fully charged and ready to go.
• Plan enough time for the “official” photo session with the parents. It’s a big day for them, too.
• Pat yourself on the back for being so organized, and have a great time!
