Robert Schimmel died Friday, September 3 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident last week. He was 60 old.Last Thursday during a trip to Arizona, his daughter from age 19 Aliyahswerved to avoid another accident on the highway driving the car, Schimmel inches and his son were turned over several times. In 2000, plans for a FOX sitcom were demolished during Schimmel (who had already survived a heart attack in 1998) was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After beating cancer, announced in January this year had contracted cirrhosis of infection with hepatitis C, who had received a blood transfusion.

I’m not a fan of Howard Stern, but I heard Schimmel appearance on NPR’s “Fresh Air” A few years ago, in which he describes his fight against cancer in 2000. He was obsessed with his descriptions of how he fought the disease, which doctors said would kill him, and survived.At the time he had started dating a woman named Melissa, but when diagnosed with cancer, returned to his former wife , Vicki. They had separated after the death of his son. Schimmel has tried to work with Vicki, but eventually realized his heart was with Melissa.

Word of his death seemed to break through Twitter, as outlets almost all the news seems to do before real can report today. Many fans thought he offered his respects before death has been confirmed, including Jimmy Kimmell, who praised Schimmel as one of the more fun and more handsome of comedy. “Kimmell went on to say he could not confirm the death itself, but as he hopes for false statements he had heard that” Bob “had disappeared.
