New Secretariat Building Chennai

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will be in Chennai on Saturday evening to inaugurate the Tamil Nadu government’s new assembly cum secretariat complex.

It’s a state-of-the-art green architecture in the heart of Chennai, built at a cost of Rs 450 crore, it is the first Assembly building in the world to be designed and constructed as a green building.
The assembly portion alone is ready now and it may take a few more months for the project to be completed.

The state’s budget session will begin in the new complex on March 19
