We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness – That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among men, the declaration of independence text, and their just powers from the consent of the governed – That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is people’s right to modify or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, which seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. ”

Every year, Independence Day is an opportunity for Americans around the world to put aside their differences (Well, OK, nobody really expected the Red Sox fans to give his fellow Yankees to a high of five years) and celebrate the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that is sought in the Continental Congress on this memorable day, return July 4, 1776.

The basic premise behind the mercantilist system of planning was the idea that it was the duty and responsibility of government to manage and direct the economic affairs of society. The British Crown settlers chained business with a network of regulations and restrictions. The British government said it could produce, and providing resources and technologies that can be used. The government has prevented the free market to set prices and wages, and handling of goods which would be available to consumers colonial. It dictates what goods can be imported or exported between the 13 colonies and the rest of the world, preventing the settlers enjoy the gains that could be under free trade among themselves.

The UK Government’s response to the American colonists “civil disobedience” against their regulations and taxes has been difficult. The king’s army and navy have killed civilians and arbitrary in the ruins of people’s private property. “He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burned our towns and destroyed the lives of our people,” the statement lamented.

Not a nation made it clear that autonomy is not only the right to elect political office holders and approving laws of the land, but also means that each human being has the right to govern their own lives . In fact, in these words in the Declaration, the Founding Fathers insisted that every man must be regarded as master of himself, and not be considered state property to be manipulated by a king or parliament.
